Justin A. Kordas, P.E. | President

 

Justin Kordas, a Marine Corps veteran, has forged a notable career in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) sector. Demonstrating a steadfast dedication to sustainability, he takes a proactive role in spearheading initiatives aimed at minimizing embodied carbon within structural systems. Justin is a recognized contributor to industry advancement as a voting member of ACI Committee 377, which focuses on Performance-Based Structural Integrity & Resilience of Concrete Structures. Additionally, he serves as an associate member on ACI Committees 355 (Anchorage to Concrete) and 315 (Details of Concrete Reinforcement), positioning him at the forefront of innovation within the field.

 

He actively participates in sustainability efforts through collaborations with Boston-area working groups. He teaches Analysis and Design of Steel Structures at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and mentors undergraduate students for the Senior Design Project. He also serves on the board of directors for the Structural Engineers Association of Massachusetts (SEAMass) and the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Rhode Island, contributing significantly to both fields of structural engineering and architecture.

 

Justin’s professional journey has predominantly focused on high-rise concrete buildings in the Greater Boston Area during his tenure with McNamara Salvia in Boston, MA. His notable projects include the Encore Casino, Moxy Hotel, Residential Tower at Bulfinch Crossing, Omni Boston Seaport Hotel, Raffles Boston Back Bay Hotel and Residences, St. Regis Residences, and South Station Air Rights Tower.

William Porter’s hands-on field experience sets him apart as an engineer with a deep understanding of construction intricacies. As a valued member of our design team, Bill harnesses his trade background to conduct rigorous assessments of structural systems and details, ensuring they are fine-tuned for optimal constructability. In addition to his industry expertise, Bill shares his knowledge as an educator, teaching Design of Structures at Roger Williams University. 

 

His commitment extends beyond his professional role as he passionately supports the development of future talents in the Architecture, Construction, and Engineering sectors. Bill dedicates his time as a mentor in the ACE Mentor program, where he works closely with high school students, nurturing the next generation of industry professionals.

 

Bill’s portfolio includes a wide range of projects, from designing new constructions to renovating existing residential, low-rise, and mid-rise buildings spanning 1 to 9 stories in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. He is well-versed in the design and preparation of delegated design component engineering calculations for steel, aluminum, and cold-formed metal construction.

 

Before co-founding Stone Fleet, Inc. alongside Justin, Bill honed his expertise at two prominent Rhode Island engineering firms. Some of his notable projects include the MIT Theater Arts Building, Concord Museum Rasmussen Education Center, Lapham Building Adaptive Re-Use, Moody Street Fire Station, Ortho RI Ambulatory Patient Center, and Paragon Mill Adaptive Re-Use.
